Little Miss Sunshine – What a strange and hilarious movie.  Definitely one of those quirky comedies that starts out slow and begs the question, should I turn this thing off…but don’t!  Stick with it, because from the moment they climb into that VW Van, it takes on a whole new life.  This movie had me laughing from that moment on….and a bit the next day when I thought about that poor yellow van.  I’m not sure that the movie itself is Oscar worthy, however the Van alone should win the golden statue as the star of the movie!  I say rent it and get a good hardy belly laugh.

Beerfest – Do I really need to say more?  I like stupid comedies, don’t get me wrong.  But the title says it all.  It had it’s funny moments, and maybe if you played a lot of drinking games in college it will bring back some memories, but all together, not that great of a flick.  Not a complete waste of my time, but nothing I will recommend.

Babel – O..M..G..  Read any good movies lately?  Well I guarantee this wasn’t one of them.  An hour in, we turned it off.  It was boring, grotesque and after a full hour still seemed to be going no where.  If you are into strange cinematic films that take you all over the place and give you no sense of involvement…that never help you invest in the characters in any way on any level, and you like kiddie porn, then this movie is for you.  Not for me however.  I fail to see any of the importance of some of the more perverse scenes, and I’m certain that they would not have been tied in later in the flick either.  I can understand why it was nominated for Oscar…it sucked.  The academy only seems to recognize the movies that only the strange people of Hollywood could appreciate and pays no respect to the average viewer that actually pays their hard earned buck to see their movie…oh well, as long as they get their awards, right?
