Were the Republican's put here by God?

Now let’s talk again about Mr. John McCain’s thoughts.  He will appoint judges who, "strictly interpret the Constitution of the United States and do not legislate from the bench."  I’m not sure exactly what that means, but I am under the impression that his goal, is to add more ultra conservative, Christian judges to the prestigious benches of our Supreme court…hmmm.  When did the Republican Party declare them selves the moral compass of this country?  When did God look down and say, “You there.  Good Christian/Republican.  Please make sure that the people of this land follow your beliefs.”  ???

I for one was under the impression that our country was founded on the idea of freedom.  Freedom of religion, I think was a biggie…I’m pretty sure that’s why they all boarded the May Flower in the first place…to escape tyranny and persecution for what they believed in.  So why is it that our President and his loyal dominions think that what they believe is the ‘right’ and, to use his favorite word, the ‘just’ way?

Marriage is a holy union between a man and a woman.  Okay.  That’s what you believe.  That’s what I believe for that matter.  But for someone else that has different ideas about what make something a marriage, then that is their right.  Their freedom!  If two people of the same sex wish to marry and spend a blissful life together, let them!  Who cares?  That is their right and their choice.  What I really wish is that this great Governing body would stop spending so very much of my tax payer’s dollar disputing it.   We have very serious problem in the United States, and around the globe.  We have a drowning economy and enormous unemployment due to outsourcing to other countries.  We have environmental issues, and since we are the United States, it will be up to us to fix that too.  I for one would like to know why I live in one of the poorest counties in NY State, with the one of the largest unemployment ratings, yet we pay the highest Taxes…I mean are you kidding me?  But instead this Republican administration has spent much of its resources, time and energy fighting moral battles that should not even be an issue.  Vote to let them marry and receive the same benefits as a married man and woman and move on to something that is affecting this country on a whole.  Separate the Church and State, and stop trying to be the next messiah.

P.S.  I am a Registered Republican….but I am worried.
