This Week's Movies in Review
The Heart of the Game - I thought this was a great documentary following a Girls High School Basketball team in Seattle. I found it a greatly inspirational story of respect, determination, team work and God given talent. This is a great movie for both coaches and players of any sport.

Goal! The Dream Begins - This was another nice inspirational movie. It was much like "Rudy," on the soccer field, complete with the disbelieving father, the practice squads, and triumph. Overall the movie was well done, from screenplay right through acting. It irritated me in the beginning with the Mexicans climbing through the fence, but the illegal aliens redeem themselves and made me forget how they got here. Touching at times, it gave you that feeling of accomplishment by it's end. This was a good movie to have on my Netflix back up list.

The Black Dahlia - This movie did not excite me. Gangster type movies; movies with cops constantly referring to everyone quickly by their last name, while doing under handed dealings with scum tend to loose me...I won't lie to you. I don't think this is a bad movie at all. It follows in the footsteps of The Untouchables, and more so, L.A. Confidential. If you like 1950's movies, where excess is everything and no one is responsible, then this is it. Apparently back then, you could kill anyone you wanted and walk away smoking a cigarette. I think if this movie came up on HBO I would tune in again, and try to follow closer. I was reading the Sunday paper when it started, and I spent the entire two hours thinking we were looking for killer of a girl named Lorna...found out in the end, it was someone named Elizabeth...I have no idea who Lorna was. I guess it wasn't bad, but for someone who lists Mel Brooks in two of her top five movies of all time, this wasn't my cup of tea. It was a typical copper movie, where the plot gets unfolded finally in the end (like a scooby doo episode) as the hero, the last guy standing narrates the recap..putting all of the facts together that both you, and he missed...and then there's always one last wist. Pay attention if you watch...you may like it.
JJ - OK
Wild Hogs - This movie was great! This was my cup of tea. I would definitely say see it in the theater if you can. It was funny from the opening scene until the very end. A great cast. A great Script. Great laughs. We loved it!
JJJJJ - OMG I need to own it and watch again & again
