This week's Movies in Review
Epic Movie - This was funny...as slap stick comedies go, we did laugh....however, we had spent the last 4 hours in 90 degree weather setting up a garage sale...so about half way through we turned it off and went to bed. We never popped it back in, as there was no real need to see where the story went.
Norbit - Just what I expected. I get very irritated when Eddie Murphy plays many rolls....just annoys me. But this movie had some funny moments. It was not a disappointment by any means, just not exactly my cup of tea.
Children Of Men - This was a pretty good movie. I have noticed one thing though...in every futuristic British story...why is it that America has been annihilated by a Nuclear war? Is it wishful thinking...is it the only way they know they can be a superior country again is if we implode...or is it a scary, true prediction? The Movie was an interesting concept and showed us a frightening future...but here's what I didn't care for; They never told us why no one had been born in 18 years. They never made it clear what the Human Project was (sounded like an eighties rock band to me) and I had trouble knowing exactly what they were talking about with all their different accents (and if you have read my reviews before, you know I don't do well with foreigners). What I did like, is the gun battle though the streets (and again, I had no idea where they were or who was fighting who) Clive Owen is ducking and dodging for his life and there is blood splatter on the camera lens for the rest of the scene...that was kind of cool....maybe I am a bit twisted. Anyway, it was a good movie, just pay attention.
On a lighter side, Sunday night I watched, Hysteria, the Def Leppard Story, followed by the making of the album...that put me in a good mood....they always make me better :O)~
THIS WEEKEND - Breach, Arthur and the Invisibles, and Ghost Rider....could be a good movie weekend...we'll see.
