Is Change Always Necessary?

So this past weekend we attended our fifteen year high school reunion.  It was nice.  Small...but with only approx. sixty-nine kids in our graduating class...we didn't expect a lot.  It was nice to see some of the people, and the others I never really knew that well, so it didn't really matter to me.  I don't say that to be a bitch, just that I didn't have anything to reminisce about with them.

But her is my thing....a lot of people looked or acted the same, and each time that a comment was made about how, "They haven't changed a bit," it was said with a negative connotation.  Why?  Why do people need to change....well hold on...some people really do need to change, but why does everyone.  If they were fun, or nice, or had a decent style/look to them, why do they need to have changed?  Sure it's been fifteen years but some people were really great just the way they were.  Now I realize that most people graduate high school and use that opportunity to become the person that their small town and school friends would never let them be, but just because one person may or may not be happy with who they are doesn't mean that everyone is.  Some of us liked who we were and damn, if a girls still got her figure fifteen years later...god bless her!

I guess what I am saying is that a visual transformation should not be the one determining factor as to how someone has grown and evolved....and that not everyone needs to change on a grand scale....some are perfect just the way they are.
