This Week's Movies in Review

Sorry I haven't reviewed lately....but I am back now.

OK.

Knocked Up - Good Funny movie.  I wanted to see this movie the night our daughter was born, and I'm glad that we missed it, because I would have cried through the whole thing..lol.  I'm sure that's confusing to hear about a good comedy, but it had a sensitive side.   so....I like it.  I like that a lot of the cast from "40" was in it again...as I've said before, I like it when people recognize good chemistry...stick with what works.  Now, I will admit that I was a bit a little let down....I think all the "Funniest movie of the Year," hype maybe built it up way too much in my mind...but it was funny...we did enjoy it, and I'm am glad that I bought it.

Vacancy - Scary Movie....so much so that ten minutes in I asked my husband to take it out and put in Knocked Up.  I was beside myself scared in the first ten minutes, so even though I didn't see the rest of the movie...I feel pretty confident in saying that it was good and great for the horror thrill seeker.

Ms Potter - Wow what a difference in one movie to the next.  This movie was all right.  I liked that she was a writer, and even more that she was real...but I don't much like Renee Z.  She's ok as an actress, but I just can't stand her weird face. I was so proud of Ms Potter though in the end when the movie informed the viewer that she's the best selling children's author of all time, and about the land preservations that she created in England....

Mansfield Park - I know this is older, but I love Jane Austin Novel based movies (and no I am not some ultra liberal, hairy pitted, feminist) This movie bored the snot out of me.  Maybe just because I knew the Packers were on NBC and I wanted it to end...but the cast was boring and where the story is good, this production just didn't reach me.

Alright....I also watched .... Gone with The Wind....There's five hours of my life I will never get back. Holy crap that was long....and boring....I think it would have been better if I had seen it when it first aired forty something years ago...or if I liked Southern things....but I don't ...I'm a Yank.  We won, get over it.

Let's see, What Else?  OH.  Oliver Twist.  I watched the 2005 remake, and I enjoyed it very much....like Jane, I love Dickens Novels adapted to the big screen.  He's dark and twisted and shows us the uglier side human nature and 1800 England....I love it.

Well, I think that's it....If I think of anything else that I have seen in the past few weeks I will try to review them later.....Thanks for stopping!
