This Week's Movies In Review

OK, so I saw a few movies over my leave.

Mr. Brooks - What a good movie.  I wasn't too interested, but we really enjoyed it.  Costner and his split personality were quite amusing and kept the serial killing spree light hearted.  We had some laughs, and at the same time were gripped to the story to see how it would play out.  Good movie...Rent it.

Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World - I had no idea what to expect.  But I enjoyed this thing.  It was slow and quirky and I loved the end..the American created yet another war...lol...unknowingly of course.  That part I guess demeans the US, but at the same time, it was funny.  It reminded me at times of Spies like us.  Not the ridiculousness, but rather the effort to fit in in a strange land...maybe it was Albert Brook's cloths....I can't explain it.  But I liked it.

Ocean's Thirteen - Loved it, Loved it, Loved it.  I don't know how these hold up through each sequal, but each one is just as great as the last.  As always, excellent cast, great dry comedy...and this time...an Oparah moment...lol.  I say rent it and watch it in delight!

Gracie - This movie was good.  I was surprised to learn that this was based on the true life of actress Elisabeth Shue.  I'm not a soccer fan by any means, but it's a moving family drama about a girl pioneering the rights for woman to play "boy's sports."  I say rent this one too.

Live Free or Die Hard - Skeptical....We kept saying how unrealistic it would be.  But Bruce Willis was that same smart alec John McClain that talks to himself and makes you laugh.  Justin Long was fun too...but I have liked him since his days on Ed.  Unrealistic?  OMG Yes.  The freeway thing, with the bridges collapsing as he out maneuvers a fighter while driving a big rig....then he jumps onto the Fighter? Come-on!  LOL.  but it was fun non the less.  Rent it if you've got some time to kill.

Oh...and Elmo's Christmas Carol....Loved it... 4 Stars!
