This Week's Movies in Review
So this was a pretty good Movie Weekend.
The Waitress - I liked this movie very much. I wish there was a pie house around here...that all looked awesome! But it was a nice story of a woman trying to escape her life...finding dead ends down each road, until finally her baby is born and she sees the light. Russell was great and a long way from Felicity.....Thank God. I say rent this...great chick flick!
The Heartbreak Kid - This movie Disappointed me. I expected laugh out loud funny with Ben Stiller, but that's not at all what we got. Yes he was funny, and yes we hahaha'd at a few points, but this just wasn't his best. And if the Farrelly brothers were going for a Cameron Diaz type for the lead female roll...then they should have just cast her. This woman did everything possible to look, act and sound like her....Something about Mary, anyone? Just not any good. I love the Farrelly's and I love, LOVE Ben Stiller, but I say skip it...wait for it to come out on TBS.
Surf's Up - This movie was cute. Of course I spent the entire thing trying to figure out who the main character's voice was. I know Big Z is Jeff Bridges...I mean who can't figure that out, but I just couldn't put my finger on the kid's voice. I think my favorite character was Surfing Chicken Joe from Wyoming! Anyway, rent it....whether you have kids or not.
The Kingdom - This movie was VERY good. I liked it a lot. you have to pay attention. There's a lot of information to be gotten throughout the whole flick, and the names go fast, so listen...don't go pee in the middle. The brief history lesson in the beginning cleared some things for me up as well as to why BinLadin hates the US. So that was helpful. Altogether it was an interesting, gripping movie, with a very clear message in the end echoed by both sides; 'Kill em All.'
We also recorded Ratittoullie....rata....llouise...rata something. I was going to watch that last night, but then when I checked the guide I noticed that the last regular season Colt's game was on, as well as The Sound of Music....which Brett let me turn to during NFL Commercial breaks....and he only bitched a little under his breath.
