So my Sesame Street watching was increased greatly over the last few months, and honestly, I love it.  They are funny...they are cute, they are musical....it's just fun.  Elmo has stolen Ellie's heart, and honestly, mine and my husband's as well. 

As we watch each day, I have noticed a few things however, that I don't remember noticing as a child.

For one, Bert's love of Oatmeal.  He seems very involved in that.

Next...it never occurred to me that they were all Monsters.  I know....Cookie Monster....there should have been a clue there.  But I just never realized it until recently.

Big Bird's bear's name is Radar.  Which is cute, because Radar O'Rielly on M*A*S*H* carried a teddy bear just like Bird's every where he went.  I will look into this irony a bit more...I think there may be a back story to it.

And something else I thought was just lovely I watched with my daughter just yesterday.  Harry (the monster) woke up and before he broke into song, he told us viewers that he loves to wake up in the morning.  He said, it's like all the things that he loves go away at night, and in the morning they are all new to him.  What a wonderful concept.  As day breaks, to be able to see the world in a whole new light....now that is a great way to start your day.
