Truth
Do you know your own Truth?
Do you know who you are?
Who you really are....?
My truth, to me, means knowing who I really am. Looking into every nook and cranny of my life, of my person...of my everything....my past, my future, and my ever so animated present and admitting to myself who I actually am. Am I living the life that I wanted to? Or rather, am I living the life that I am pretending to?
You know how you fall in love...maybe get married...and over time you both change? Maybe a little plumper. Older. But no matter how we change, every time we look at our love, we still see the same beautiful person we fell for 15 years ago. We hardly ever see the negative change. Instead we hold tight to the dusty images in our minds...images in warped old photographs.
I think our lives are lived very much the same way. We knew who we wanted to be when we grew up. We know the kind of person we want to be now....generous, a hard worker, kind, a savvy businessman, a good mother. But just thinking we are these things isn't enough. Wishful thinking doesn't cut it. Wishing you did more for others, does not make it happen....honestly, it's nothing more then wishing you were a pirate when you were 9 years old. You have to actually go out and do something nice for someone if that's what you want your life, your truth to be.
Most of us think we know who we are as individuals, however, the majority view them selves through rose colored glasses. We see the people that we think we are. The people that we wish in our mind we actually were.
Now do this, Imagine yourself at your own funeral.
What will they say about you?
That my friend is your truth.
Who you really were in this world.
It's not the lies you tell to your wishfully thinking soul, but rather who you actually are in your everyday encounters with the outside world.
Examine your own life. Your actions. Identify who you really are.
Did you find the person you thought you would?
Know yourself.
Know who you want to be.
Know how you want to be perceived by others.
Then, be that person.
Be the greatest vessel you can be while you're granted this short time on earth.
Admit your Truth.
at least to yourself...
