Rendition, The Darjeeling Limited, We Own The Night

Rendition - This movie was boring.  From the trailers I thought that Reese & Jake were going to travel the globe together to find her husband.  That was not at all the case.  Very slow, and much like Bable.  A lot of side stories you have to read that will eventually all tie into one...only they fail to tell you at any point as well, that one whole story line is a flash back...that part left us like, What the Hell?  Of course then it played itself out and we got it.  But over all...boring.  2 stars.

The Darjeeling Limited - OMG.  Typical Wes Anderson movie.  I told my husband we'd watch it second Friday night because he would probably hate it and he could take a nap...I was right.  First off....you push play and you are in a sub movie w/ Shwartzman and Portman....which was really weird.  Then the movie starts.  The whole thing was just weird and quirky....complete with Anderson's normal cast of Houston and Murray, as well as his weird ass folk-ie music through out.....oh and could the luggage be any more symbolic?  If you liked Life Aquatic and The Tenenbaums then you may like this one...but I say skip the whole damn thing.  Just weird.

We Own The Night - Boring.  From the title of this movie...it makes me think of a gripping, and dominate force, either cops or mafia, that rule the city.  This was nothing like that.  It was so boring.  The movie starred Phoenix and only featured Duvall and Walhberg.  That disappointed me.  Marky Mark is  a great action star, but in this movie he has very few scenes and his character does literally nothing....must have taken him 2 days to shoot this entire thing.  Duvall was under utilized as well....what we saw too much of was Phoenix, who's character was just not anyone that you could attach to emotionally.  You never truly felt his pain or connected with his driving force behind his decisions.  The movie was just eh.  Watch it on HBO.....And Phoenix, change you name back to Leaf....it's so much better then Joaquin...that's just weird.

The weekend wasn't a total loss however...when this last movie ended, Pride & Prejudice was on Cable as well as Bourne Supremacy and Without A Paddle....good thing I'm the clicker queen!
