The Game Plan, Michael Clyaton, and Into The Wild

This was not a bad movie weekend.

The Game Plan - This was just what you would expect it to be.  It was cute at times and had funny moments, but it really was not a heart felt family comedy.  I never felt any kind of connection between the two and never had that heart wrenching turning point moment in The Rock....but it was cute.  I would definitely suggest this for family night.

Michael Clayton - I want to say this is a good movie.  However I watched it while chasing my newly mobile 9 month old around the house...getting her jammies on....giving her bed time cereal...feeding her....etc etc.  So I missed every thing that was important in this movie.  I had no idea who was on what side...no idea who the bad guys were....I do know that Clooney pulled off a killer ending, but I'm just not sure who he nailed.  I had to put this thing back in the mail Sat. morning, so I didn't get a chance to watch it again....we both agreed however that when it is finally on HBO we will watch the whole thing uninterrupted....so I say rent it...It looked good.

Into The Wild - I was fairly certain this was a true story, however it never had that complete feel to it.  It was a very well told and interesting story of this kid's life.  We journeyed with him as he let go of life and lived it...in the wild....not meaning only the wild of Alaska, but the wild of America.   This guy touched so many peoples lives along his journey.  He lived in a way that most of us wish we could.  Hirsh did a fantastic job with his performance, and the old man that wanted to adopt him was my favorite....I worry that that'll be me some day....the only child with no one to love and care for me when I'm old.....but that's not here nor there.....all in all a great movie....Rent it!

next up Juno!

McCandless's story is tragic, but then so many people have benefited from hearing it... a couple of years of hitchhiking led to his story challenging thousands (millions?) of people to reexamine their lives
