Cyber Bawls

Have you ever noticed that people seem to develop Cyber Bawls when they get on line?

I find that most people in all of these various cyber communities seem to only be there to ridicule.  They are horrible, mean, vindictive people that have zero regard for someone else's feelings.  Do the golden rules we were raised with no longer apply?

Take these Hollywood updates on TMZ.  Have you ever read the comments people write? They wish death on celebrities because they're sick of hearing about them....stop reading about them jackass.  Or they feel free to read something that you've written or left a comment on (peacefully I might add) and they maliciously attack you.  What I've noticed is most of the time they don't even have an opinion or need to be there in that community...they have simply stumbled across something that has no bearing on their lives whatsoever and they attack you with full force.  They are not out for some great intelectual debate....they are just being mean.  Just big Cyber Bullies.

Now, I'll admit, I'm not all that different.  Many of my blogs are based on rants.  But I try to usually head them towards the path of self discovery...not just needlessly ripping another person in half.  Heck, I feel bad when I say not to rent a movie because I didn't like it.

What kills me about the Cyber freaks that suddenly find themselves well hung, is that I would be willing to wager any amount of money, that they are frauds.  Posers. They are most likely meek little things that would never stand up for themselves in person no matter what the cause.  The kind of person that sits at Thanksgiving dinner and listens to relatives get worked up in a heated debate over something that they themselves are quite passionate about, yet all they would dare ever say, is requesting the passage of the mashed potatoes.  It's as if, these funny, little, quite type people sit and listen to the world going on about them afraid to speak their mind even once...until they get home.  They get on line.  Give them a wireless hook up and a screne name and suddenly they are transformed into psychotic, ranting, mean-ass, miserable people out to attack anyone and every one.

The fact is people....just because you can't see the other person on line, doesn't mean that they're not people just the same.  It doesn't mean that we don't all still get our feelings hurt the same exact way as if you were standing in front of them.  Don't use the internet to attack fellow surfers....instead trying continuing to act in the way that you were raised....Do unto Others....

Manners do still apply.
