Ellie and George Carlin

First of all, I love Carlin.  I love a comedian that says what most of us are thinking...no matter how wrong it actually is.  So with that said, I recorded his show on HBO It's all Bad for Ya.

A few weeks ago my daughter sat in my lap as I watched part of it.  She had just learned to clap, so every time the crowd clapped, so did she...of course she wouldn't dare clap at Music class that week, but she clapped for Carlin.

Then he does a spiel on letting kids just be.  At one point he asks the question, when does the poor boy get to just sit in his yard and play with a stick?  This is a good question I must say...parents try too hard these days it seems.  So this past Saturday we stopped by my parents house to drop off a movie.  They were trying desperately to dig out the snowmobile trailer that had rolled off the wood block and sunk into the spring grass three inches.  I ended up helping them for about a half hour until we finally liberated it.  My daughter?  Well she spent some time in the bed of the truck holding onto the tailgate watching us.  The rest of the time she spent sitting in the yard....playing with a stick!  She picked up a small twig off the big birch tree...I started to take it away from her as she put it in her mouth and I suddenly heard George in my head.....I let her chew on it.....After all, God made dirt, and dirt won't hurt...right?

So last night I watched more of this recording.  He said it perfectly again....people are F'in boring...LOL.  I personally can't stand most people...not to say I don't like them, but I don't like to be around them for very long.  Most are boring, and the majority only talk about themselves....I have no time...I have myself to worry about (pot meet kettle, right?)

His show was a nice reminder though...the way he talks about how he hates when people talk non stop about their kids...hearing something like that keeps me in check.  I also like how he says every one should only have one child...as replacement value for yourself he says...not your husband...screw him...just replace yourself!  LOL.

Anywho...let em' play with a stick once in a while.
