Courtney's Pond (1980's)
Down the road just a little ways was Courtney’s Pond. It was a petite little pond that was the home to Snapping turtles. I myself have never seen a Snapping turtle, but I was told that they could take a finger off. Being the little deviants that we were, we would ride our bikes down to the pond whenever we were wanton for some trouble. The other kids would get as close as they could, I remember them once even getting into the water, but I was always careful to keep my distance. I needed all 10 of my digits!
