A Day at Base Day Care

On one special occasion, my mother decided to take me to the Base Day Care center while she went next door to bowl.  That was a horrible day for me.  I had no friends there at all.  I was completely mortified when they changed some poor kid’s diaper in front of the entire group of kids.  I felt that was private and everyone else did not need to see that.  Just like Uncle Ron’s babysitting fiasco, I bawled the entire time she was gone.  The other kids went outside to play and I refused.  Then at the end of my stay I saw my mom at the counter on the other side of the glass windows signing me out.  At that same moment someone opened the big heavy door that kept us imprisoned.  I snuck through and tried to run to my mommy.   I was grabbed from behind and hurled back inside, back behind the glass walls screaming the whole time.  My mother shortly rescued me and I told her that if she ever took me back, I would pack up everything I could into my little Blanky and run away from home.  I was never taken back there again.
