Berries, Kites and Your Snow Suit

We used to pick strawberries out there in the woods all of the time and blue berries up on the hill across the street where now sits a house.  (We moved away for two years and when we came back the hill was gone and there was a brand new house.)

The field across the street was just as entertaining as the woods.  It was mostly swamp, but we made due.  We rode the 4 wheelers, the Snowmobiles, and flew our kites.

We would spend the winters climbing up that big hill and sliding down.  Of course you had to be careful and/or talented.  There was an old barbed wire fence at the bottom.  You had to either steer really well or know how to bail quickly when you got there or your snowsuit would get caught in the fence and torn.  Your snowsuit’s safety was way more important then the threat of decapitation.  Your mother would have killed you if you wrecked your snowsuit.
