Rainy Days on Carter Rd.

More tales from the 80's on East Carter Rd.

Rainy days were a little different.  Of course we would be at their house with an assortment of things to do.  There was Atari (wrestling games of course), listening to records and singing, playing with My Little Ponies or Strawberry Shortcake (Alec was ALWAYS the Purple Pie man), playing in the basement, or if we were so inclined we would be bad and/or cruel.  Like locking Alec in the wood shed down in the cellar.

We used to call people all the time, just randomly out of the phone book and "prank" them (if that's what you would call it)  We would do stupid things like telling them we were conducting surveys and ask what radio station they listened too; Rock 107 or KG 104 ? (so very lame, I know!)

The worse was when we would concoct drinks and force the other to chug them down (you‘re thinking oh...that‘s where it started)  By concocting I mean; get out the blender and fill it with things like Ice Cream, soda, Ketchup, Tea, Tange, Mayonnaise what ever would blend into a drinkable substance.  Then the others would Have to drink it..  Sometimes that got prett y brutal.

We may have been simple, but we were always entertained...
