Someone once said to me that this town (Westmoreland) is stuck in 1989.  I believe that. 

Another woman that I work with refers to big 80's hair as "Utica Hair."  We joke about that quite a bit. 

Is it all true?

                    YES.

I passed my old neighbor the other morning getting into her car after dropping her girl off at day care.  Stretch  pants....heels...big fluffy, dead ended, frizzy, 80's pony tail with those hot dog curled bangs... 

This of course prompts me to think of '1989' and 'Utica Hair' once again....

This area in general refuses to move forward in fashion sence.  Some people do....it's not everyone, so please don't be offended if you actually have taste.  But there are so many 80's grads that still do their hair the same exact way....like they have no idea when to do with out big hair-sprayed, crusty do's.    We all seem to live on classic rock...even the teens rock out to it.  And the make up ladies....please....ditch the blue eye shadow and bright pink lips....

I think we need to handout to the masses copies of Cosmo...like war propaganda we need to reach them all and let them know....the 80's have ended!  Shrink your hair!  Tone down the clown make up!
