Well I apologize Ladies....it's not just Utica stuck in this bad hair, bad makeup, bad clothing time warp.

At the Concert Sunday night at the New York State Fair I watched for an hour while we waited, as some very interesting people strolled by looking for their seats. 

Talk about being stuck in 1989!  What a group of people.  Now I know I am no fashion Icon.  I have bad Circus Freak Hair, and I live in t shirts and comfy pants.  But to start...I am not 40 with three children, inappropriately showing my mid drift.  I am not wearing skin tight denim washed jeans.  I do not have thick black eye liner on, nor pink lips like I mentioned before. 

And the MEN! They are not escaping this trend either!  I saw men there still wearing those stupid jean shorts that come all the way down to their knee caps...the same ones that I finally got my own husband to throw out just a few years ago.  Wearing those lovely shorts with t-shirts that are slightly too small, so they ride up on their aging beer-ish belly revealing their naval and hanging longer in the back.  ug.  This is bad.

Now I know also that I went to see an older band, so it will be followed for a large part by older people....but what about the people that sat next to me?  Older then me, they were appropriately dressed in 2008 clothing.  Looking by basic standards....normal! They seemed to escape this 'stuck in time' trend....why is it that so many others can not?

The whole thing was just appalling to watch....fun too.  I love all walks of life...and to each his own...I just kept thinking about 1989 and Utica hair as each person walked by....and snickering to myself...and Jana as we flashed looks to one another with each soul the sauntered past.
