Feeling Like Nurse Ratched
Today I thought of what it must have felt like to be Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
I lined up the pill bottles on the counter top. Then one by one I measured out the dosage from each bottle and set it down in front.
My patients eagerly came running with the first shake of the first bottle. They scampered and bounced across the vinyl flooring as the lined up finally at the kitchen door way.
One by one I straddled them. Grabbed them under the chin. Inserted my thumb into their mouth as if I were bitting a horse. Placed the drug of choice at the back of their tongue and then clamped the mouth shut. I stroked the underneath of their necks twice and then gave them the boot from the line up.
Next!
An antibiotic for Rocky following his cyst removal last Monday. An antihistamine for Jr who's allergic to what we don't know. And a pee pee pill for Adrian who tends to drip when she sleeps....that pill is my favorite to dish out....ain't gonna be no pee pee on my sofa.
Anywho...just another day in the nut farm.
