Dear Miss Lapree

Dear Miss LaPree,

After watching the Presidential Debate Tuesday night, I fear I am not quite qualified.

They spoke about things I have never even heard of.  They went into great detail regarding foreign leaders and specifics of our failing economy....things I think my president should definitely know about to such an extent...I'm just concerned at the moment that I'm not quite qualified.

But I do have four years...so I will brush up on every thing world and domestic related and hopefully will be ready to clean up the next administration's mess.

On a separate note Miss LaPree, I did pay great attention and have formed some definite thoughts regarding the candidates.  And please feel free to have a difference of opinion....that's kind of what a democracy is....

I think Dad is right, Obama is too young and unexperienced.  He is naive about foreign policy, but at the same time, his calm approach to diplomacy might be refreshing to both our allies and our enemies.  I think he gets more specific with his policies and he always says, "When I'm President," not, "If I'm elected." But at the same time...what about these tax hikes I hear about and the taxing families for no health care for their children?  And what is he going to do for the economy and the planet?

I think MaCain is just too Republican.  I have so much respect for his service record and I think he has done good things while in office.  But he is another stiff old white guy with extreme Christian beliefs and I think other world leaders will see more of the same coming out of the US.  I'm not sure quite honestly that our economy can tolerate another republican behind the wheel of this bus either, but then again he is calm and consistant.  He is likeable and feels approachable to me.  He also doesn't make words up the way Lil' Bush does.

I still need to take time to read their plans and policies on their web sites, but I am leaning towards MaCain...simply because I think he has the bawls to protect us first and foremost.  I need to know more about his economical plan as well as his health care plan because of course they both sling mud through the debates rather then promote the positive details of their own campaign.  I KNOW!! It's a debate!  LOL.  But I would like them to tell me more about what they can do for me...not just how the other guy will destroy us all.

We'll see...no matter who we choose we'll all regret it in the end...

                    we always do.
