Crystal Skulls and Sex In The City

I haven't reviewed a movie in a while.  Mostly because there was just nothing ever worth saying.  I felt like all I ever did was say like it or hated it.  I guess I just lost interest.  This weekend though we watched a good movie for a change and I thought maybe I'd write some stuff up.

Indiana Jones (Crystal Skulls) - I was excited for this movie and it was worth it!  Hearing that Indiana Jones was back made most of us question bringing Harrison Ford back to that role at his age....but they wrote it and played that situation out very well.  From the first moment you see his hat laying on the ground...his shadow...and the music quietly starting in the back ground you get excited.  You know it's Indy and it's all about to begin.  The character kept his light, sarcastic wit which made it fun.  We even caught a glimpse of the Ark, which I kind of anticipated when I saw the warehouse they were in.  Karen Allen returns as Marion, which was another thing I saw coming.  Again, their relationship was light and humorous.  I did feel like she was trying too hard acting wise, to be funny, but at the same time, the movie was good, so it could easily be over looked.  I just loved the return characters and lines, and music...the Hat...the whip!  This movie was really very good, and a lot of fun for us 80's kids that grew up with Indy!

Sex in The City - Holy cow....2.5 hours, are you kidding me?  Here's the thing.  This show ended years ago....and honestly, they should have left it that way.  I was a faithful watcher.  No one bothered me Sunday nights because Sex in the City was on.  But then again, the entire show was only 20 minutes, so the level of disgusting cheese was tolerable.....but two and half hours of it.  OMG.  There is less cheese in Green Bay on Sunday afternoons.  This movie was just too long and too ridiculous.  The friendships all seemed so fake and forced.  And after everything that happened between Carrie and Big, they just get together like that in the end....come'on.  We knew that they would...but that simply.  Puhl-eese.  It just felt like they dragged the damn thing out so long then decided, ok let's wrap it up!  Just stupid.  I didn't have any interest in this when it came out, then I thought, ya know what?  I watched every single episode, I should watch the movie and see what happens....Should have followed Orig. Instinct.  ug.

I've become less enamoured with SITC since the movie. SJP has stolen this vehicle and made it all about her. Which is fine except the remaining cast is left so far behind it is obvious SJP called the shots on this one. All the promo material, DVD cover, posters, etc..all of it is her and at times the rest of the cast is left out completely! Really disappointing..if the cast does get back together I hope they stick it to SJP as she has apparently stuck it to her "friends" in this movie.
