So this weekend REPUBLICAN Colin Powell gave his support to Barack Obama.  He sighted the same reason that I had mentioned in a previous blog...I think these guys may be reading it. 

He mentioned, in addition to other reasons, that the face of this nation needs to change.  That other world leaders need to see someone different behind the controls.  Not just another old white guy.  The rest of the world doesn't understand Republican vs. Democrat....hell most of us don't anymore....but they do understand old, white stiff guy vs. younger, tall, relaxed black man.  This could bring some new energy into out foreign relationships with both our allies and our adversaries.  Maybe not.  For some it may be negative.  But it's obvious that something does need to change.

Now I'm sure the race card does come into play as well for Powell, and I can understand that.  But I found it interesting that he had the same thoughts that I did.


But then again...this is the man the adamantly fought with the U.N. for an Iraqi invasion based on his evidence that there was W.M.D.  we're still looking for that Sir......
