What's On?

So what are you watching on TV?

It seems weird that the fall shows are on...that regular TV programming is back in action.  With last winter's writer's strike we all endured shortened spring line ups as well as entire seasons being skipped on summer shows.  Rescue Me for one...that depressed me.

But even though it's all back in full force...I feel like nothing is actually on.
Only a few nights cause us to tune in these days.

So what are you into?

We have a simple al be it faithful line up.

Mondays are all CBS...well not all.  We skip the 8:00 sitcom, but never miss..."wait for it".... How I Met Your Mother, followed by Two and A Half Men (which I've said before, is not the same without Rose)  Gary UnMarried seems funny enough, but the cast feels like they are trying to hard...they need to relax a bit and let the funny come out naturally.  I've also been a fan of Samantha Who, but I have not caught that since it's return last week.  But, let's not leave out the most important part of the night...Monday Night Football.

Tuesdays do nothing much for us...we stumble along until 9:00 and then we tune into the Mentalist.  It's alright I guess....but Simon Baker is just adorable, so I'll keep watching that.

Wednesday is another boring float along type day.  We watch Old Christine and then kind of what evers on after that but not committed to anything.

Thursday however, is the day we wait for (well that and Sundays!)  We have watched Survivor since it first began...sadly we have probably only missed maybe 4 episodes in all those season....we are pathetic...I know.  I still l remember laying in bed one morning listening to Linda Ray talk about this crazy TV producer wants to put a bunch of average people on an island and video tape their survival.  She laughed at the stupidity.  I guess it worked out alright though.  Of course after that is the REAL CSI.  Not one of the stupid spin offs, but the real one.  Of course Sarah is gone and now Warrick....Grissom will be gone soon enough as well, but it's still the real thing.  It's still the best.

Friday and Saturday night for us is Movie night, but Sunday!!  Sunday is the day that Ellie is cut off completely from cartoons after 11:30.  From that point on it's all High Def Football...and now with the NFL ticket and the lovely flat screen HD TV....it's like standing on the field next to coach.

Sunday night though, I usually turn into Desperate Housewives.  I debated on making the effort last night.  I think it sucks so far since it came back.  I hate the 5 year leap.  I don't like any of the characters any more and I know we are in for another "Susan and Mike will they or won't they get together" season....let it go already.  And are we really supposed to believe Gabby has changed that much....come on.  It just sucks.  I will keep watching, because I always believe in riding a storm out, but I don't see this show redeeming itself anytime soon.

So now let's talk now about the other shows we love, but have no idea when they are on!  Thank God for DVR service!

First of all we are addicted to Entourage.  We just LOVE it.  It's funny, It's raw.  It's entertainment!  LOL.  We actually got the first three seasons from Netflix and watched them before this new season began.  We had always seen episodes at different times but wasn't sure what order they should be in and we were positive we had missed quite a bit.  I'm glad we did that.  However, we got so used to watching 4 episodes at a time that now when we watch the new one....we are let down when it's over after only 20 minutes.  Bums us out.

What about, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  Now don't judge me on this one.  This show is ridiculously stupid, and damn freaking funny.  I laugh my butt off every week at how horribly screwed up these people are and can't help but ask who the hell writes this stuff.  I love it!

I also love that Friday Night Lights was brought back and even better, it was brought back exclusively on Direct TV first.  So we are seeing them all before average cable go-ers.  This season is good.  Make sure you watch it when NBC puts it back on the air.

What I've missed....?  Some didn't come back because of the strike, but promise to return in 2009.  Others are just short series that airs on FX for only a few weeks a year....I hate that.  But I love and am missing, Rescue Me, Dirt, 24 and The Ritches.  I wish FX would make those seasons longer.  I like that they usually come on during the off season because it gives me something to look forward to, but at the same time, they are not on long and that depresses me.  As for 24.  This last season really let me down.  I know they have a special that will air in November that I am looking forward too, but I hope that that and the new season in 2009 get us back...make us faithful Jack Bauer Lovers again.  God I hope so....I hate when the good shows push the envelope and instead end up letting us down.

So that's whats on!

What are you watching?

P.S.  on a lighter note....we also faithfully watch, Dora, Diego, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Oswald, and Franklin....God help us Yo Gabba Gabba, as well as Tom and Jerry and the Smurfs (when Ellie lets us.)

We like Dancing With the Stars very much! And I love the CSI:NY bunch too. The original CSI is still the best though. I also can't wait for NCIS, House, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, Jon & Kate Plus 8, 17 Kids and Counting, and House Hunters. Oh and a new one, Haulin' House! Those are my favs right now. I'm still waiting for LOST to come back! And what the heck happened to October Road and Jericho? Where they cancelled or are those summer shows. I get confused with all these different starting times!
