President Elect!
So we, people, have witnessed history being made.
Our first African American President.
We voted, overwhelmingly, for change.
We need to shake things up.
We need a new look to the face of this country.
We spoke as a people and a country that has felt so divided for so long, and finally cast a united decision on our futures.
I will secretly admit to you now thought that even though I voted for the victor, as I lay in bed this morning awaiting the news to be announced on my clock radio, I actually found myself wishing that it would be McCain. I'm not sure why. I voted for Obama. I believe that he is what we need right now. I believe that McCain would have only been more of the same. But I secretly hoped that the war vet....they old white guy, would come through. I really am not sure why I felt that way. But then I washed the republican crust from my eyes, and saw our future clearly. I am excited for the change....as well as for the little Obama's that will now get a puppy.
