Constantly Paying it Forward

I feel like I live my life in a constant state of "Pay It Forward."

I like to do nice things for people.

For no reason at all...

                ....if you can believe it.

I think it comes from my parents.  My parents are a rare breed.  They're a couple of strange people that actually hear the things that you say.  They hang on every word and absorb it all so that they really "know" you.  They ask about your day and care about your response.  It's sad...but that really is rare in this world we live in.

So how does this apply to my affliction?

Well this constant paying attention to details and the things that people say leads them into this other weird personality quirk that they and myself all share....We do nice things for people completely out of the blue, for no foreseeable reason whatsoever.

This is me.

This I do all the time.

It can be simply cleaning someone's stall while they are showing so that they have less to do at the end of their long day.  Randomly requesting a friend's children for an afternoon walk, just so that my friend can have a break.  Or it can turn expensive....what we Cramers are the most crazy with.....we have this persistent, pain in the butt little thing we do, where if we see something in a store or a magazine that makes us think of someone in particular, we get it for that person for no other reason other then,it made us think of them.  I'm a big random card sender as well....just a little note just to say 'hi'.

It makes me nuts.  In a world cultured around the self centered, self indulgent, and self righteous, I find myself constantly thinking of other people....Always thinking of how things will effect them....trying to put the greater good first.  Trying to make others smile....even if they are already happy.

This makes me nuts.....why can't I be selfish like everyone else?

....boy, my parents really messed me up......
