Sunday

I had a pretty nice Sunday.  It began normal enough, with it being "Clean Sheet Day" and then folding some basic laundry.  I cleaned the main bathroom lightly, as Ellie and her dad had gotten baby lotion hand prints everywhere.  Then there was the dream-ie Dunkin Donut Bagel.  When Ell's finally woke up at around 9:30, I randomly played with her for about three hours.  She is just adorable.  Then eventually Brett's brother, niece and father came over for football.

This part was fun for me.  My niece was mildly afraid of the dogs...mostly their slobber I think, but she warmed up to them by the third quarter.  We played (the girls and myself) in Ellie's room for some time, building things with legos.  Then after lunch, and Half time, the three of us ventured back into the baby's room.  This time Alana suggested that we pick a stuffed animal and one will go to the other's house for a tea party.  I was excited!  I was the queen of make believe as a child, but I have been worried that when it comes time to play with Ellie in this manor that I won't remember how.  I'm not so worried anymore.  When my stuffed animal knocked on her stuffed animal's door I started to find my imagination again.  Then when I pulled out Ellie's tea party in a bag and set that up, I really felt it begin to flow....just like my make believe tea.  Of course the tea party was not perfect.  Ellie sat in the middle and continued to steal our plates, cup cakes, tea bags etc.  Then Alana grabbed her Melissa & Doug Sushi set and we had fake fish with our make believe tea....hhhmmmm....

Finally, to both our disappointed hearts, Alan had to go home, but we had fun and I appreciated her kick starting my pretend.

Later in the evening after Lasagna dinner (which I made was way too soup-ie) and a bath, Ellie's, not mine,  we flipped channels for nothing to watch.  As I got to TBS I did stumble upon The Wizard of Oz...Brett grumbled something under his breath, but to my delight, Ellie froze in her tracks.  This was my favorite part of the day...my 16 month old daughter climbed up with me in my lap and watched The Wizard of Oz....oh boy!

I hope this is a sign of things to come!
