Atomic Time
Have you ever heard of Atomic Time?
I got my husband a new alarm clock with this magical feature.
First we were very confused because we would go to bed at say...10:00 and then wake in the morning and the time would be set at like 4am. What the heck...
Finally he figured it out....the Atomic Time was set to Pacific Time. So at least he got us back on EST.
But what the heck is Atomic time???
well....according to professionalwatches.com
ATOMIC TIME Atomic Time Standard is provided by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, Time and Frequency Division in Boulder Colorado. Atomic time is measured through vibrations of atoms in a metal isotope that resembles mercury. The result is extremely accurate time that can be measured on instruments. Radio waves transmit this exact time throughout North America. Atomic watches and clocks can receive the signal.
There, now we're all a little smarter today...
And finally he can no longer set his clock for ridiculous half hours ahead of the real time....just to make sure he gets up on time....that concept never made any sense to me. But now when he sets it 15 - 30 minutes ahead and goes to sleep...it Atomically changes back to everyone else's idea of Eastern Standard Time.,,,Yeah....
