He's Afraid of Needles
My husband is a hoot.
This morning the nice Nurse from Exam One paid us a visit to do our health exams for our new life ins. He was so worked up all week over this half hour in our lives.... turns out his blood pressure is good, in spite of the drive way shoveling he did while he awaited her arrival...trying to keep his mind off of his fears....
But then the scariest moment of all finally came..."Brett, sit down here for your blood draw."
AGGHHH!!!
[LOL....omg I was dieing.]
See last time he had blood drawn, when the lady switched vials she lost the vein and stabbed the hell out of him...his reaction? Well, Brett passed out. He ended up being revived in the Slocum lab and then wheel chaired back to our doctors office.
God I wish I had been there to see all that.
So he was literally in a panic as she began. She had difficulty finding his vein at all, and she explained that he has deep veins...I always knew my husband was deep....full of it, but certainly deep as well. She finally got it, and was in with one jab....but he freaked out again when she switched vials. I could tell how upset he was as I listened to his breathing. When he stood up he was whiter then I had even seen. My pale, Irish red head was almost translucent.
The nice nurse was nervous as well because she's never had anyone faint on her before and didn't want to have to deal with that, so she was actually shaking when she drew my blood...which should have made me nervous, but at the same time I didn't know it was her shaking until after she was putting the bandage on me...I thought I had the shakes from the 12 hour fast.
Anyway, that's my man! Lover of puppys.....scaredy cat of needles.

Now you'll have no problem picturing your father doing the EXACT same thing. Must be men in general!
