153 Rock Ballads!

Yes, this is post three for today regarding my daughter.....but if you notice they all lead back to me being a bit of a fruit cake.

Yesterday I looked up the Baby Can Read program on line.  Over the weekend we watched the half hour infomercial and I wanted to see more about it.  I was asked to try to go the whole month of January with out spending money....it was posed as a challenge as my husband was hoping to appeal to my competitive nature, but I thought it more of a controlling threat, so I ignored the request.

moving on....I checked it out, but wasn't certain I wanted to spend the money....

....move ahead now to 9:00 and there's not much on TV.

My husbands stops on a program about 70's Ballads.  We think it's a television show, when in fact it's yet another infomercial.  Time Life is selling a box set of like 13 CDs of the greatest rock ballads of that era...153 songs!  I'm watching the list of songs scroll by and I just kept saying, "Mommy would like that."  Brett finally got up and handed me the phone...he wanted it too.

I dialed, but then hung up...."that's 5  easy payments of 29.99."  OMG....that's $150.00!

But then they hooked me....."Order in the next 15 minutes and we'll reduce it to only 4 easy payments"....

                .....well okay then.

Brett ran down and got me his debit card and I called.  Twenty minutes later with more offers of 8 additional CD for $24.00 a month, 4 additional CD for $14.99 a month,  this same complete package as a gift for 33% off, a $50.00 Wal-mart gift card for some membership, and three complimentary magazines, all smartly declined by me...and I had ordered my $120.00 box set!

I'm psyched and can not wait for it to arrive!

The kid may never learn to read, but she will always and forever be my Tiny Dancer.....I have one hundred and fifty three new songs on CD to insure it!
