Secret Shoppers
Does Nice N Easy still do that anymore?
I wondered this the other day as I was NOT offered a bag.
See when I was like 18/19 years old I worked at the Kirkland Nice N Easy while I was going to college (among various other things) One thing you were brow beaten with was, the Secret Shopper scare.
See some lucky random person was paid fifty bucks to come in and buy some random item; candy, a Pepsi, Cigarettes...the kind of things you buy at a corner convenience store....a 40 of Miller High Life...whatever. They evaluated the store and the head cashier and then wrote you up when they got in their car.
Here were the rules:
The floor must be swept/mopped spotless, no matter what crappy time of the year it was.
You had to great everyone as they entered (let them know that you know they are in YOUR store)
The cooler as well as the shelves were to be faced and neat.
You greeted them again at the counter asking their well being (with actual interest)
Cashed them out,
and lastly....ALWAYS off them a bag...
.....no matter what!
Well I gotta Tell you Westmoreland Sleazy....nobody has offered me a bag in a long time.
Now if I'm on my way to a party, let's say...with maybe a dish to pass, and probably a kid in tow...and now I am asked to stop and grab some eggs and maybe brown sugar (I don't know, I'm making this up) Wouldn't it be easier if that crap was in a bag? I shouldn't have to ask for that...nor will I, because I KNOW it's their duty to offer. Also I feel like I am putting them out by asking them to do their job (which has become the American way, I guess)
So anyway, I just wondered if they still did the Secret Shopper thing....the bag offer should be store policy regardless....don't be lazy people...be considerate.
Thank you and have a nice day!
