I think it's time for an Ellie Update!

She is just growing SO fast...and SO funny!  This kid already has our sarcastic/stupid sense of humor.

First of all, she's still a Monkey Butt...climbs on EVERY THING!  She loves to lay on her Lalee (blankie) and say nap as she pretend to snore.  When you ask her for a kiss she fish faces her lips and makes the noise.  She learned last weekend to Cluck to get her horse to move and "Whoa" to make him stop. 

Ellie is faster and faster every day...and sometimes actually looks at you out of the corner of her eye with a devilish little smile as she gages whether or not she can make by you and be Free!  She still runs spastically with arms and head bobbing and flailing, but it gets quicker every day.

Her latest obsession is the cat and giving her treats, or bones as she calls them.  The cat is not a big fan of this and does not play along.  When she finally disappears down the stairs Ellie sits at the top and calls to her.  Occasionally she sticks her head through the hole in the gate for the cat...she's only gotten her head stuck once and called for help.  Mostly from this cat and mouse chase she is learning "Patience."  Daddy and Maybe have taught her that if she sits quietly...patiently then Maybe will return.  So now we say "Patience" for every thing!  It's very VERY cute.

Lastly...well not lastly...she does SO many awesome things, but her other big, new thing is reading to us.  Her favorite book, since the beginning of time has been the Wocket in My Pocket.  She asks for the 'Wocket' every night and I start each line and she finishes it with the rhyming word.  There's a Zamp in the...."LAMP!" she answers!  Gotta love Dr. Seuss!  She is now doing that with most of her books.  She knows bee-bo in her Hippo book and all the sounds to make in the Bunny Noise book.  It really is just adorable.

She also has mastered the writing utensil.  She has always held it correctly, but now she actually aims for an object on the page and stays with it...she's not with in the lines by any means, but she's on the one picture.  It makes us very proud!

So that's how Ellie is doing...what she's up to!  Almost two!  Can you believe it??!!!
