Life Update
OK...I've had a very rough week and I feel the need to give an update. For the record it is all working itself out, so I don't know why I get so freaked out...things always work out...it's either that or sometimes you have no where to go but up.
Monday Rocky recieved a terminal diagnosis and by Tuesday it had hit me hard. I spent the day in tears and he seemed no better. Wednesday however Rocky had a new look, or should I say his old look back. I hadn't realized how long it had been since he laid on the couch and I was so happy to come home from the barn and find him in his old position hanging over the arm like he owned the joint. Now he is moving around again, eating, wagging his tail nub. He seems to be comforted by the meds. Hopefully we have made him feel better and slowed the rate of the masses growing inside him.
As for barn life...Rita is a rockstar and came through on the horse trailer so I stressed about getting that in time for nothing. Brett hooked me up this morning and Danielle and I loaded for Cornell University (amazing what the sight of a whip will do when he doesn't want to load!) So two hours later we're there early....they are no where around...lol. BUT, they all arrived right at 1:00 just like they were scheduled to and went right to work on his feet. They Got it! All the white lime seems to have been killed during the last visit so they trimmed him up and put a treated piece of felt on the previously infected area, wrapped them and sent us on our way. Yeah! I had roughly six different people tell me how amazing he looks for 27 and all the farriers followed us out to load and pet Fox once he was on board. (they may have just been following Danielle in her tight little jeans) So Fox got a clean bill of health and should start walking better soon!
As for me? Tonight I will breathe. I will sing myself to sleep with CCR, "Bother me tomorrow,
today I'll find no sorrow," and that will be my weekend motto!
