Clinton's Post Presidential Redemption

I'm one of those rare and funny little Americans that actually thinks that Bill Clinton was a terrible President.

(Gasp!  I know!)

This financial crisis we are in did not happen over night.  It was actually spear headed by this so called 'great president's" administration many years ago.  George Bush was a disgrace as this countries leader, there's no argument here and he was definitely an out of control mess with our money, but it didn't start with him.  He inherited a downward spiraling country...and he's a Republican and everyone knows they are frivolous with money...so what did we really expect from him?  People just seem to forget that it was already bad when he took the reins.

In addition to Bill's national debt contributions let's not forget the numerous times that he could have put some kind of kibosh on the terrorist movements and maybe even have prevented the attacks of September 11th 2001.  All he had to do was flex one of our extremely large muscles and put them in their place.  Just like France and the many warnings that they were given by Hitler himself...that he was up to no good, President Clinton had more than one event suggest to our government and leaders that they were in fact angry with us and taking action.  Launching cruise missiles randomly from a ship off in some harbor does not exactly combat the situation effectively.  We should have done something earlier.  The intel was there.  The previous attacks were clear messages.  We just didn't want to be too aggressive...we after all were democrats.  The terrorists on the other hand have no issue at all with aggression, other than having too much of it.  I do believe that 9/11 could have been prevented, and it's sad.

Then there's just the overall disgusting disgrace that he was to his family, not to mention to Monica.  And let's not forget that emotionless, cold shrew of a wife that stood by his side throughout.  The Good Wife.  I would have liked her more if she would have been more troubled by the affair.  Maybe slapped him at the podium in front of the whole world...How can you push equality and send the message that we are all created equal...run for the role of the first female president in our nation's history, if you take that kind of a disrespectful beating from your own husband.  No one should have to put up with a cheater or public humiliation.  She should have left his ass and THEN stood on her own two feet.

So that's how I feel about Clinton's Presidency.

Now with that said...the very best thing not only for this country, but for the whole entire world was his retirement from office!  This I truly mean.  Since he has stepped down as our leader he has done nothing but insanely wonderful things as an ambassador of good will and I am continually impressed with the causes he assists and the things that he has accomplished.  For these things I will allow him a bit of redemption in my eyes.  The latest of course being the release of the American journalist being held in Korea.  Were they guilty...probably.  But no one wants to have a loved one imprisoned, especially not sentenced to 12 years of what they refer to as 'hard labor' in a such a frightening little country like that.  Bill Clinton arrived in Korea and brought them home in one afternoon.  It's my understanding that he did in no way negotiate their release, but he was a positive face of this nation that journeyed to North Korea and sat down with the scary little man sealing the United States deal for their release.

Way to go Billy.
