Fox Update
I reported on July 30th after Fox's last visit to Cornell that he had a clean bill of health where his hoof was concerned. The White Line was all cleaned up and he was walking much better.
Unfortunately this didn't last very long and since last Thursday Fox has been virtually unable to walk at all and as of yesterday refused to even leave his stall. He lays down most of the time and when he does stand he either points that toe or holds the leg in the air.
I'm worried it's founder. There's been so much trauma to that hoof wall that I'm afraid the coffin bone has pulled away and foundered down.
Fox has an appointment with Doc Seavers tomorrow at three...but I wonder if we'll even be able to load him on the trailer.
Fox has literally walked away from life and death, as well as come through amazing injuries more then once...so I'm supposed to count on him being just fine after this too. But my heart is very heavy and not siding with my brain.
I'm hoping it's just all of the loss we've had lately weighing on me and not any instinctive, gut feelings.
I need my boy to be alright...Fox has always been my hero...I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do if I have to be without him.
Hopefully I'll be back with good news tomorrow.
