Thankful

I've been reading a lot lately about the things people are grateful for.  Their families, friends, health, jobs, morning Coffee...bla bla bla, it's all the same.

I think most people are thankful for their friends and family as well as their good health...if they are fortunate enough to have it that is.  Lord knows I am.  Most days I still can't figure out why my husband is still here and I thank God every single day for my daughter as well as the woman who gave her to us every chance that I receive.  In today's economy you do have to be grateful you have a job and where as I don't drink coffee...millions of people every day bow down to the roasted bean.

So most of that's a given.  There are exceptions...people who hate their families or have no good friends etc. but I think most of us are happy for those things.  Personally I thinks it's kind of a rhetorical statement .

I decided to go a different route today and list the things that I am thankful for...really thankful for...things outside of the box!

So here I go...

I am thankful for... - Caller ID, the moving picture, contact lenses, the dogie door!  That someone somewhere once dipped their chocolate in peanut butter and shared their glory with the world!  When she yells, "I have to pee!" and makes it to the potty on time.  My freedom and the fact that I was born in the United States of America...as well as the first twelve years of my life I affectionately refer to as "Chapter one," that I spent inside the citadel known as the United States Air Force.  The invention of the remote control, indoor plumbing, Smart Pak, John Cusack movies, and the fact that I go to work every day in my PJs.  My amazingly patient and passive cat that came to us in a time of great loss and sorrow to help us mend.  On Line shopping, that my parents had this great idea to get me a horseback riding lesson, and  for my blog!  Thankful for football, hoodies, gators (half chaps) Amazon, Satellite radio, and how good I sound singing in the shower!  Meatballs, FOX, weekdays at 3 for General Hosp., Vodka, and unanswered prayers.  Flip Flops, the 80's (all of it) The fact that March Madness follows immediately after football season wraps up so I never have to stop screaming out my aggression at the TV.  That the word Banana Pants always makes my daughter laugh and that Jack Nicholson was cast as the Joker in the 1989 version of Batman.

Every night as I close my prayers, I thank God for my life, for the things in my life and always, for the things I don't have.

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving and when you're giving thanks...do a blanket praise for family and friends, then mix it up a bit and  be honest about the things you truly love!
