Welcome Winter
So I stated earlier this month (maybe not on my blog, but other places) that this winter seems bitterly cold for early December.
Now today!
Today, is my kinda winter weather!
We woke up to a light snowfall. Gentle lake effect. As the day progressed the snow picked up and the wind gradually blew into town. Then by noon it had all stopped. They're expecting more today and tonight...and that's cool.
We didn't get a lot of snow, but we got enough to go play in.
The difference between now and earlier this month?
I don't know exactly...I can't put my finger on it.
I guess early December was just bitter and seemed fruitless. The sky was always creepy, and dark. The clouds were ominous. The chill just nipped at your nose but promised no hope of anything white and fluffy.
Today's sky is bright! It's not exactly sunny out because of the clouds over head, but the clouds are white and fluffy. They hold hopeful snow just waiting for it's signal to fall. The clouds are like two outstretched, sweater bundled arms cradling the sun. Ya, it's windy in places, and it's cold, but it's a different kind of cold. This one is tolerable. Maybe because it has purpose. Maybe because it's coming at the right time of the year. Maybe because we are officially in winter it takes on a whole new life.
I'm not sure why the difference but finally the winter weather feels normal, feels good and feels accepted!
Welcome Winter!
