One Proud Mama
I was proud of my daughter when she was holding her own bottle at 3 months...even prouder when she began sitting on the floor with an entire tote full of books at 6 months and thumbing through them all for an hour at a time. I was happy when she learned to crawl, and once again proud when she was walking, AND talking at 9.5 months.
This kid always makes me proud of her. She continues to impress us every day.
I beamed again as she suited up for her first horse show lead line class....and we all survived!
Her latest accomplishment has been using the toilet. A little later then others, but that's ok, because she basically taught her self to use it.
Today however, I think was my happiest, most joyous day yet!
We began working with Ellie, teaching her to ride a bike a few weeks ago when we went out as a family on Mother's Day and bought her her first bike. We laid as a family on our backs and practiced the cycling motion...when we got tired, we rested them on the couch and laughed that we were coasting... Then at camp this past weekend she worked hard on it. She mastered the peddle, but could not steer for anything. Once, during a brief moment of peddling AND control, she said, "I'm doing it!" (which I got on tape, yeah!!)
Today however! Today, she rode her bike unassisted up and down the Berkshire, twice!!
The look of pure joy and pride stretched across her beat red little face!
I was the proudest momma in all the land...
I don't know how I did not cry...
