The Old Barn

Tonight as we pulled into Fairway, I parked in front of the lower barn and I hear from the back seat, " That's a dirty old barn!"

I asked her what she was talking about as I unbuckled her from her car seat and she answered, " that barn is old.  We should tear it down and put up a sparkly new one!'

 **agreed** but it's home**

A half hour later, after she had played in a grain bin, sat on top of the bedding eating a carrot and singing the friendship song to Spencer...Pee-peed in Fox's stall, pushed Jesse Volo all over the farm in his stroller, sat in the muck out by the road and tried desperately to pull our lone corn stalk in the doorway, and picked a handful of yellow bells and clovers, she told me, "You go home.  I'm going to stay here. (pause) I'm going to live here forever."

It warmed the cockles of my heart!

(that's right, I said Cockles!)
