When You're On...
Tonight as I rocked my daughter to sleep, she and I watched the Boston Celtics battle the Miami Heat. Innocently she asked if they could "step in the yellow." I thought that was cute, and I explained that that was okay to do and that we call that "in the paint."
A few minutes later Robinson drained a 3 pointer like the crazy little bastard that he is. We high fived.
I've come to learn that shooting baskets is much like jumping horses (although I can always find a way to translate everything into jumping horses) The fact is, when you're hot, you're hot. Some days you can see the spots, and some days you can't. Robinson was having a pretty good first quarter, so I said quietly to myself, "When you're on, you're on." Then just as quietly Ellen added, "and when you're not on, you're not on."
I laughed pretty good ...
... How right she is!
Then! Just before she passed out cold for the night, the 1st quarter ended (with the Celtic's ex House, putting in a three pointer at the buzzer) they showed a high light of Rondo's earlier dunk as it went to commercial break, and from an almost comatose state, she claps her hands and yells, "Alright Rondo!!"
Man, I love this kid!!
