Tonight was pretty cool.

I just really got into basketball about 2 years ago. I've really been into it this year, even contemplating the DirectTV NBA Pass for next season so we don't ever miss a game.

Tonight however, I watched history be made - and what's cooler then that?

Reggie Miller has held the 3 point record since 1998.  He sat court side tonight, calling the game for TNT as our very own Ray Allen broke his long standing record!

So, here's where I was when history was made - Ellie and I had just finished Skippyjon Jones and The Big Bones, as I saw him sink one from down town to tie Miller's record.

Fist pumped silently in the air...

She fell asleep immediately as she was exhausted.  I held her still in my arms as Allen tried 2 more shots and missed.  Finally, everyone still off the high of tying the record, Rondo stole the ball from LA, ran it down court like he does and basically handed it to his teammate so that he could take his place in NBA history!

He shoots!  He Scores... He brakes the Record!  Ray Allen is the new 3 point king!

How cool was that?!?!  So much enthusiasm at the Garden.  His mom court side, jumping up with excitement.  Miller, reaching over to congratulate him.  The Fans!!

They actually took a break in the game to acknowledge his accomplishment and let him hug his family and teammates.

Literally seconds later my phone went off with an email from Celtics.com announcing the news!

It was just cool...

And to think, hopefully he still has several years left in the league!

Funny, I saw Brett many years ago set the same record here in Westmo.

Guess It's just my thing....
