Family Day 2011
Today we celebrated our Family day.
For something special to do, we took a trip to the Build A Bear Workshop! We've never been before, and found it all very cute. Ellie was determined to pick a Kitty Cat, but once we got there she couldn't be swayed from the Jack Russell doggie. We picked our empty Jack and stood in line. She waited very patiently many times today and we were very proud of her. Finally we crossed the red tape to the stuffing area. The nice girl talked very sweetly to Ellie, asking her all about herself and if we were there for a special reason. Then she had her step on the peddle and fill her bear/dog! Once he was just about filled, she gave it a hug test... okayed, she next had Ellie grab a little, red, silk heart from the basket. She had to rub it in her hands, twirl is around, Hop with it... kiss it (all this to warm up the heart so that her puppy would have a warm loving heart) Lastly Ellie was to make a wish and they tucked it inside. She waited as her puppy was sewn together and we were pointed to the Fluffing Baths.
Ellen placed her new puppy on the table and again stepped on the peddle as air came down to fluff her puppy! Once adequately fluffed, we moved on to get him some clothes. This was a bust (and to our wallets delight) much like Ellie, the puppy will go through his life naked. We did however stop by the puppy stuff, and she spotted a dog house and dog bowl she asked for. Knowing how much she loves her puppy and kitty stuffies, we obliged.
Next stop we had to register her dog! She named him Russell. It's very cute. We sat together at the computers as we game him his name, address and birthday.
Then off to pay! Again she waited patiently for us to pay... asked for blue ribbons but once she saw them on her dog's ears she panicked and wanted them removed immediately. Then they placed him in a Box and again she panicked. So promptly removed him and placed Russell in her arms.
We walked out a proud new family!
And off to the Carousel!
Tonight as she hugged him tightly for bedtime, I asked her what she wished for. She placed her head against his and said, "that Russell and I will be together forever."
Fluffing Russell

Such a sweet story and I think that's a wonderful experience for Ellie. I'm so happy she loves him and he's so adorable. I love his name too. Congratulations on the new member of your family, I know he'll be loved forever.
