This evening my daughter sat in my lap, curled up on her Unicorn Pillow Pet as I read to her a new chapter book she received from Scholastic today.

Callie, a book about a little girl rescuing a Calico cat (how'd you know right?)  Ironically enough, its written by a woman named Ellen. 

She cried when I stopped after and hour and a half.  It's almost finished, but I was getting tired of reading and bed time was closing in quickly.

What amazes me is how I can barely get her to sit through a 90 minute Disney Movie... in fact in most cases I can NOT get her to last that long for a movie.   She is perfectly content however, to sit quietly in a chair and listen for an hour and a half to a book about a cat... with not a single picture! 

Could be why she's so brilliant...
