We all know I'm not a fan of Daylight Donuts.  I do however stop there at least once a week after dropping Ellen off at school.  Despite my distaste for coffee, I have discovered that I sort of like the Caffe' Mocha, and admittedly I feel very cool walking out with my caffeine cup-a-joe in its little hot sleeve.

Today is payday, a.k.a. shopping day, so I knew there was nothing to eat in our house for breakfast.  I decided to stop for a bagel and coffee.  I pulled in to find an unusual amount of cars in the parking lot, balloons outside and to my surprise a small hand written note on the door announcing the "Grand Opening!"  I laughed snarkily (is that a word) with a What The Hell? look on my face.

I mentioned it to the girl at the counter with the company execs swarming every where and she didn't say much, so I didn't push the subject.

As I walked away with what was undoubtedly a stale bagel in my bag I hesitated.  In that brief moment, I imagined myself walking over to their little circle of suits and letting them know just what I thought of this Daylight Donuts thus far.  But then I considered the 2 nice girls behind the counter that are always friendly and I'm certain have no idea how bad the food they peddle actually is.  They, I'm certain, are just following the "how we run our donut shop" manual they were given before they opened and going by company policy and procedure.  [After all, aren't we all.... ? ] 

With them in mind, and the need to have a peaceful, non confrontational morning... I slipped out the door and back into Suzy Stratus. 

As I pulled away I looked over to Nice N Easy and thought about what they offer for donuts and bagels... HELL NO! she thought as she drove away.  lol  I worked at a Nice N Easy once... I know what and where that stuff comes from!

Sometimes its better to just keep quite and and carry on.  After all we finally have something new in this one horse town... Don't want to scare it away just yet.

(one day I'm going to walk down with my laptop, order a Caffe' Mocha and sit in their comfy chairs, and ... write...  ahhhh the dream)
