Universal Pre-K
Last week I took Ellie over to open house at Universal Pre-K.
She is in the afternoon section and already knew the teachers for this year's class. Very enthusiastically she drew them both pictures and ran past everyone to hand them to the ladies. They were excited too.
Looking around, I noticed no one that I knew.
That's not true, there were a few people from high school that I recognized. One I can't stand and the others I don't actually know. I know their faces, but have no idea who they actually are. And the one I can't stand, well she has twins, so YEAH, twice the annoyance....
All together though, not one kid from last year's class, and this group... well, very sketchy. A rag tag looking group of kids. I had wanted her to not be in one girl's class, because her mother makes me insane, but I hope that by mentioning that I didn't curse my daughter with being lumped in with the lower class of losers....

I'm sure they are all perfectly nice kids...
So we listened to the teacher's shpeal, then she got to the part about my baby riding the school bus... at four. At FOUR! They promised she'd be alright. I listened very carefully, as this part I will mess up under NO circumstance!
I tried not to cry...
Later I told Ellen that I will have to have a very serious sit down with Nicky next door about the school bus and how he will make sure it all goes smoothly... being a one year school bus vet himself... His mother then reminded me that more likely Ellen will take care of him. (heheee)
Then a friend, a long lost friend from high school told me this, "She's YOUR daughter, she can take care of herself."
Its nice how old friends can still have faith in you
