Fish Creek Pond

OK, most of my thoughts that I never blogged were from our camping trip over July 4th weekend to Fish Creek Pond.    So I'm just going to randomly cover the highlights

On our way to the north country Ellen fell asleep.  It wasn't a long nap, but it was a nice break.  She woke up as we were passing Raquette Lake.  Ellen looked out the window and said, "God just wants every thing to be beautiful... " ♥

A short distance later she asked if she had panties on.  This is her way of asking, did we put a pull up on her for the long drive and can she "go"  I told her she was in a Pull Up and she could tinkle.  Next thing she says is, "mmmmm, that was warm."

Saturday morning Ellen and I were up @ 7, had breakfast then an early morning bike ride to the swings.  This was our first ever side by side bike ride.  I then literally spent the rest of the day sitting in a chair in the water watching Ellen collect rocks and Ryder catch the waves rolling in from the boats.  That was a good, good day.

The next day we visited the Wild Center in Tupper Lake.  My plan to make an amazing documentary video on the museum was shot to hell by her obsession with the box turtle, but we still had a nice time.

Later that evening... She made me walk her down the camp road, collar and leash on ALL 4's! to fill the dogs water jug. Not embarrassing AT ALL!!  Good thing it was me and not Brett.  He could not have taken such embarrassment.

Somewhere in there the Slushi/Ice/Popcorn truck drove through the camp grounds.  Ellen jumped up to run after it but fell over Ryder.  At this she yelled out into the sweet forest air, "you Effin' Dog!!!" but she didn't say 'Effin' yay... so nice to hear in the family camp grounds

Finally a fierce game of Candy Land, a 3rd night of public showering and we got to sit camp site lake side to watch Tupper Lake fireworks!!  They were nice.

Monday morning, Fourth of July... "Purple mountains majesty..." in honor of this great nation's supreme beauty, the Batson family decided to hike Panther Mt. ! Brett thought this was a race to the top, and Ellen thought it was incredible fun.  Maggie thought it was part of a Michael Vick dog fight (as she attacked a poor little beagle)  Ryder just played along, and I panted a lot....  We all survived.

We drove to town the one night for supplies and Ellen was concerned about missing the Ice Cream truck.  I personally had taken over the notion that the Ice Cream Truck Drivers sit in there and laugh at the parents - they know they hold all the power when they turn on that damn bell...  but it was cute when she asked, "when they run out, do they go back to the ice cream tree and get more?"  so cute this kid!

Finally it was time to head home... a fun filled 3 hour trip of Brett's ass in a pucker, the dogs vying for the seat farthest away from Ellie, Me taking pictures, singing, and fighting with the 3 in the back seat... and what started as Ellie learning the words to Do Ri Mi turning into her screaming that she hates me for 45 straight minutes because I wouldn't take her back to Fish Creek.   So nice.  (Don't worry, I got that on video so she can see how 'wonderful' she was at an over tired 4!)

Except for that last part, it was a fun filled and memorable trip.  Every time we go to Fish Creek we get something great out of Elle to remember!  It's a great place!
