Pre-K Begins

Ellen went to bed early last night, woke up excited today, and then proceeded to ask every 10 minutes when it was time for school.

Finally!  we got dressed and went as a family to her first day of Pre-K!

She of course dressed as a Leopard, carried her fugly L.L. Bean bag that she just HAD to have, and refused to take a picture.  I conned her into a few but she growled at the camera instead of smiling.

We signed her in, put her supplies in their bins, hung up the aforementioned fugly back pack and she took her seat!

... then we left....

Two and a half hours later the School bus rounded the corner and dropped her off!

She said the day was fun, they played on the play ground, had animal crackers with milk for a snack and colored... all in all a good day!

Later at Dinner we asked about the bus ride.  She told us Nicky sat behind her and that another kid from her class was on her bus as well.  Then she got grumpy and said it was fun, but an adult sat with her.  She didn't like that because she was a stranger and she couldn't talk to her.  We were very proud of her, but told her that she is the bus helper and that it's okay to speak to her.  What a good girl!

Hopefully it was a good enough day that she wants to keep going back.  She was disappointed there was no projects done, but I explained that everyone had to get settled in first and find a routine.  She also said she misses me terribly when we aren't together... what can I say kid... Get in line...  lol   That did make me sad

back at it tomorrow!

On a side note, the night before she did draw and cut out stripes to tape all over her body so that she could go to her first day of school as a Zebra...

... gonna be a Looooooong 13 years with the 'weird' kid in class.....
