Santa's Sneakers & Cupcakes
This past Sunday was another busy, busy day...
Horse Show, (with a special guest appearance) Birthday Party at Michael's then back to the horse show, Brett returned home, AND we put up our Christmas Tree!
Ellen did great at the show with me as I took pictures and video. at 10:30am the Jolly ole Elf from the North Pole arrived!! She was very intrigued by santa showing up at Fairway Farm... on the ride home, she questioned his validity because she saw sneakers under his boot covers. I explained Mrs. Clause probably wouldn't let him wear his good shoes to a smelly horse barn.
I did help Santa fix his belt and told her that he felt very magical... she thought that sounded amazing!
Later when she arrived home, she told her dad all about Santa Claus and that she thinks it was the real guy, with so much excitement in her voice. She told him about the sneakers and what I thought might be the reason, and then she said, "He sounded a lot like Grandpa!!" [oh boy]
At noon we rushed over to the craft store for the birthday party. My child was so horrible I could not wait to leave... I wanted to drag her out by her hair at several moments. The topper was when she was given a cup cake, took the Hello Kitty sugar topper off, licked the frosting off of it, placed it back on top and handed it to me, saying I could have it. She then proceeded around the long table in the narrow craft room and weaseled her way inbetween three girls. She took the (homemade) cupcake from another girls hands, took it out of its wrapper, licked it, threw it on the plate and said, "Ew, I hate it!" and walked away...
I could not get around that long ass table fast enough to stop this and it took every thing in me not to leap the table and tackle her to the floor!!!
She Took A Cup Cake out of Another Girls Hands!!!!!!!!
I Wanted to kill her.
We left early and I lectured her all the way home about how horrible she was and how completely embarrassed I was.
Monday night - we held a family meeting where we discussed certain behaviors that have gotten out of control and set up a new disciplinary system for young Ellen... she's not happy ... and I really don't care...
So far, so good... but then again it's only Wednesday...
