On January 2, 2012 One of the most beautiful mares to come to Fairway Farm was tragically lost in a fire.


One Good Move, "Kate" 



Andrea and Kate were a beautiful and elegant team. They came together when Kate was still very young and together they accomplished so very much. Simple, quiet and classic together they were truly one good move after another.

One morning, I walked into the barn behind a small girl arriving for her riding lesson, and smiled as she dragged her parents over to Kate's stall and said, "this is my favorite horse mommy, she looks just like Black Beauty."
She was indeed a black beauty - rest peacefully Kate.



One Good Move, "Kate" will be very sadly missed.
